Job summary

The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust is seeking an enthusiastic Team Leader to join the Switchboard as part of the new telephony system rollout. You will help run the switchboard, lead daily tasks, and ensure high-quality data and service delivery across inbound and outbound calls.

You will lead a team, coordinate rotas, train staff, and support digital projects while maintaining patient-centric service standards. A proactive approach and strong communication are essential.

Qualifications

Experience in a busy switchboard environment.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to deal with users of mixed IT ability.
Ability to handle confidential information and work with data protection awareness.

Responsibilities

Run the hospital switchboard and support the Switchboard Manager with daily tasks.
Ensure calls are handled quickly, politely and safely with accurate information logged.
Plan rotas, train team members, and support staff as needed.
Maintain telephony systems and equipment and keep databases up to date.
Improve services by checking data, spotting issues and proposing improvements.
Act as deputy for the Switchboard Manager and support digital projects across the Trust.
