The role focuses on safe, efficient planning across trains, with cross-functional collaboration to ensure reliable services and evolving best practices in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• Scheduling & planning experience in a complex environment.
• Exposure to constraint-based planning and resource limitations.
• Ability to sequence, prioritise and resolve timing conflicts.
• Experience collaborating with operational, depot, and delivery teams.
• Familiarity with safety-critical or regulated environments.

Responsibilities

• Train Planning: Develop safe, compliant, and efficient freight plans for the South region.
• Timetabling & Pathing: Create workable train paths balancing customer needs and capacity.
• Engineering Integration: Consider possessions, access, and network constraints.
• Operational Coordination: Work with Control, Rostering, depots and teams for realistic plans.
• Plan Validation & Compliance: Ensure accuracy and adherence to procedures.
