Job summary

IKEA Gateshead is seeking a Unit Facility Management Specialist to join our team. You will help manage facilities, ensure safety and compliance, and collaborate with contractors across a 39-hour, five-day week, including one weekend in three.

This role supports our transition to gas-free heating and cooling and the use of smart building controls. Candidates should have FM experience, knowledge of building services, budgets, and CAFM systems.

Qualifications

• Experience within Facilities Management or related environment.
• Knowledge of building services (HVAC, electrical, plumbing).
• Experience with budgets and cost control.
• Familiarity with CAFM systems and RAMS.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and monitor facilities management services to ensure a safe, compliant and well-maintained environment.
• Work closely with internal stakeholders, contractors and service providers to deliver high-quality FM services.
• Carry out inspections, audits and compliance checks, maintaining accurate records and documentation.
• Support the management of CAFM systems, maintenance schedules and statutory obligations.
• Produce reports and performance data to help drive operational improvements and support business goals.
• Assist with contractor tendering, onboarding and performance reviews.
• Contribute to budget planning, cost control and identifying more efficient ways of working.
• Provide technical support and expertise for facilities-related activities, projects and asset management initiatives.
• Support sustainability objectives by helping improve environmental performance across the unit.
