About the role:

Aviva is seeking a dedicated Sustainable Business Manager to lead our efforts in the UK financial services sector on climate action, strengthen communities, and operate sustainably. Responsibilities include:

1. Managing sustainability benchmarks and indices (SASB, CDP, Sustainalytics, S&P, UN Global Compact).
2. Ensuring credibility of sustainability claims and coordinating anti-greenwashing initiatives.
3. Supporting broader sustainability initiatives, including human rights due diligence, policy reviews, and developing Just Transition strategies.
4. Managing reputation risks related to ESG controversies.
5. Contributing to sustainability reporting and external framework mapping.

Skills and experience:

• Understanding of ESG and responsible business practices, with experience managing ESG benchmarks.
• Knowledge of anti-greenwashing practices and human rights principles.
• Strong project management skills, especially in cross-functional projects.
• Data analytics skills for sustainability insights.
• Understanding of financial services and corporate strategy; experience in financial services is a plus but not essential.
