Job summary

Arup is seeking a driven engineering intern in the UK to join our sustainable design initiatives. This 10–12 month Internship focuses on low energy and decarbonised buildings, blending design thinking with practical delivery.

You will work on HVAC concept design, 3D modelling with Revit, and thermal simulations, while contributing to decarbonisation strategies and site assessments across a live project context.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Master's in Mechanical, Architectural, or Building Services Engineering or a strong related Bachelor's degree.
• Enrolled in or completed an accredited course such as IMechE, CIBSE or Engineering Council.

Responsibilities

• Design HVAC systems.
• Analyse and optimise using software and digital tools.
• Develop system designs in 3D using Revit.
• Perform thermal and Building Regulations modelling (IESVE or similar).
• Prepare mark-ups and support holistic design progression.
• Input to decarbonisation strategies for operational/embodied carbon.
• Conduct site visits.
• Prepare reports/presentations/site reports.
• Evaluate new technologies for sustainable design.
