Job summary

Veolia is hiring an Operations & Maintenance Assistant in Sheffield. You will support the day-to-day operation of the ERF Transfer Station and Energy Recovery Facility, conduct waste acceptance checks and direct waste flows, and operate site machinery such as forklifts with related training.

Qualifications

• Previous experience operating yellow plant machinery or similar heavy equipment.
• Full, clean UK driving licence required.
• Strong safety-first mindset with awareness of health, safety and environmental requirements.

Responsibilities

• Support safe and efficient day-to-day operation of the ERF Transfer Station and Energy Recovery Facility.
• Carry out waste acceptance checks and direct waste to correct disposal route.
• Operate site plant/equipment including forklift trucks; after training, wheeled bucket loaders.
• Manage vehicle movements and maintain clean, safe site conditions.
