Job summary

Veolia Environmental Services (Uk) Plc is seeking an Operations & Maintenance Supervisor in the UK to oversee daily permit compliance, manage tipping hall operations, and supervise O&MAs across the ERF site. The role requires a proactive engineer with strong HSE knowledge and the ability to train on mobile and fixed plant.

The successful candidate will work a shift pattern, demonstrate autonomy, and contribute to a safer, more efficient site while supporting Veolia’s sustainability and community

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of regulatory and health & safety requirements.
• Engineering role experience (ideally).
• Proven experience in industrial environments, preferably with continuous process operations.
• Competency operating (or ability to train on) mobile equipment and fixed plant.
• Flexibility to work shift patterns.
• Self-motivated with a flexible mindset.
• Able to work independently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Supervise day-to-day compliance with the Environmental Permit and report non-compliance or incidents to the Operations Manager.
• Supervise daily activities in the Tipping Hall and ensure O&MAs are employed to maintain operational efficiency.
• Supervise O&MAs in safe and efficient operation of the ERF, including emergency situations.
• Oversee reception and disposal of waste and ensure vehicle/driver compliance on site.
• Ensure O&MAs are available to operate cranes, mobile plant, weighbridge and related equipment.
• Work within Health & Safety, Quality and Environmental Management Systems and relevant legislation.
• Assist other staff and contractors as required.
• Carry out other duties as requested by management.
