Working within the JD private label team at the head office in Bury, you will be part of a busy design and development office and interact with external departments and businesses across the Group.

JD private labels are an integral part of the JD retail offering, and these labels are designed, developed, and manufactured in-house. Our teams on these labels are focused on growing sustainability throughout the business.

· Job Title – Sustainability Coordinator

· Working rota – Monday to Friday

· Working hours – 8:30am to 5:00pm, 40 hours per week.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Proactively research and engage with sourcing & product teams to develop a JD Own Brand sustainability strategy. Manage and own the project from initiation to implementation and transition phases.
• Update and maintain all project documents for the sustainability strategy, while monitoring and reporting on project progress.
• Forecast and execute priority projects to develop long-term sustainable development in response to business priorities.
• Lead sustainability working group meetings across JD Own Brand & Outdoor fascia.
• Highlight key projects and drive progress out of the Sustainability Working Groups through stakeholder engagement and monitoring.
• Support private label product development teams to deliver the sustainability strategy.
• Research and propose actions for future sustainability/environmental initiatives within the supply chain.
• Support group-wide CSRD projects with the head of sustainability on behalf of JD Private Labels.
• Stay informed of current innovative sustainable solutions and legislation forecasting.
• Attend key industry events.
• Work with the Own Brand Design team to create trend reports on sustainability trends.
• Participate in the Digital Product Passport (DDP) project, researching and advising on consumer engagement.
• Engage with the social responsibility team on environmental processes and improvements within our supply chain, aligned with the sustainability strategy.
• Collaborate with the Outdoor fascia of the JD Group to promote sustainability and project engagement.
• Prepare key sustainability metrics for annual reporting.
• Report annually to the Better Cotton Initiative on private labels' cotton consumption.

What We're Looking For:

• Proven experience in a sustainability role.
• Computer skills: Excel (MS Projects is desirable).
