We are seeking an Environmental Consultant/Senior Environment Manager to join our client's Environment & Infrastructure Team. You will lead the management and delivery of key environmental projects across the UK and assist clients in managing and obtaining environmental consents, including for national infrastructure schemes. Experience with National Highways projects is advantageous, as you will work on a major National Highways scheme. This is a 6-12 month contract offering remote work, with occasional travel to Manchester and site visits. The position is outside IR35.
This pivotal role involves integrating consents into project delivery across design, assessment, and construction phases. The work varies daily, including client meetings, workshops, and providing advice on consent applications and compliance. You will collaborate with environmental teams on their delivery schedules and may act as a project manager or director, overseeing environmental team delivery, stakeholder engagement, and project performance.
We seek a highly organized, communicative leader with strong knowledge of environmental requirements during major UK development and infrastructure projects. A degree (or equivalent) in environmental or related fields is required; MSc or professional qualifications are a plus. The ideal candidate has led environmental aspects of development projects, especially post-planning consent and during detailed design and construction stages. Experience with delivering consents under hybrid bills, DCO, TWA, and TCPA regimes is highly desirable.
