About the role

Ethics & Sustainability (E&S) are central to our mission. We seek a Sustainability & Ethics Manager within the Social Impact & Health team. You will help accelerate our E&S plans across Waitrose and John Lewis, contributing to our Social Impact & Health action plan and engaging with NGOs and charities to maximize shared value.

Key responsibilities

  • Co-own the social impact and health action plan, impact assessment methodology, and reporting
  • Promote high-quality social impact programs at the community level
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to deliver and profile social impact initiatives
  • Manage charity partnerships and fundraising activities
  • Oversee programs supporting vulnerable customers and communities, including Healthy Happy Home, Community Matters, and FareShare
  • Participate in the Building Happier Futures Committee of the John Lewis Partnership Foundation
  • Ensure legal compliance and responsible budget management
  • Manage 2 direct reports

Essential skills

  • Degree or relevant experience in a related field
  • Experience delivering social impact programs and impact measurement
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Stakeholder management and organizational skills
  • Interest in Ethics & Sustainability, especially social impact and health

Desirable skills

  • People management experience
