Job summary

Intermountain Health is seeking a Surgical Technologist to support the operating room team at St Mary’s Regional Hospital in Grand Junction, Colorado. Both new graduates and experienced technologists are welcomed for full-time and part-time roles, with opportunities for advancement and a sign-on bonus.

Responsibilities include maintaining the sterile field, assisting surgeons, and coordinating with the OR team. Level II/III progression is available based on qualifications and experience.

Qualifications

• BLS certification for healthcare providers is required.
• Completion of an accredited Operating Room Technician program or recent graduation from a surgical tech program.
• Two years of scrub tech experience in hospital or military surgical services in the last three years (or equivalent).
• Able to take assigned call.
• Level II/III requires additional competency in multiple procedures and/or specialty areas.

Responsibilities

• Ensure operating room and all surgical items meet sterilization criteria.
• Maintain sterile field and a safe environment.
• Address sharps and fire safety processes.
• Prepare the operating room and instruments for procedures.
• May assist with sterile processing.
• Assists surgeon(s) during procedures within ORT scope.
• Identify emergencies and respond with appropriate procedures.
• Assist with room turnover and prepare for next procedure.
