Job Summary

Salary: £62,830 - £72,100 (Depending upon experience)

Contract: Full-time, permanent position

Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Location: 33 Grosvenor Place, SW1X 7HY

Shift Pattern: 07:30 – 20:30, 3 long working days per week, with on-call coverage for 1 in 8 weekends

Role Overview

We are recruiting a Robotics Surgery Surgical Care Practitioner to support and develop our Robotics Surgery program. The role involves clinical duties supporting robotic interventions and peri-operative care under senior surgeon supervision, with opportunities for cross-specialty progression.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform autonomous specialized skills related to robotic surgery, including prepping, draping, port incision, robot setup, instrumentation, bleeding management, specimen handling, and drain insertion.
  • Participate actively in surgical procedures under the guidance of a consultant surgeon.
  • Develop research-based practices, ensure quality assurance, and conduct clinical audits.
  • Support junior team members’ professional development through mentoring and training.
Candidate Requirements
  • Significant experience as a Surgical Care Practitioner assisting in robotic surgeries, preferably in abdominal and pelvic surgeries.
  • Strong skills in clinical decision-making, surgical techniques, teaching, critical thinking, coaching, and conflict resolution.
  • Proactive in identifying improvement opportunities and engaging staff in training.
  • Autonomous in robotics projects, collaborating with lead SCPs and consultants.
  • Act as a point of contact for robotic surgery services to optimize patient care.
