Job summary

Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Slot Administrator (Prep For Surgery) to support our clinical and admin teams and help patients access timely appointments.

The role requires initiative, composure under pressure, empathy and clear communication with patients and staff. It is a part‑time, fixed‑term 12‑month contract, with a salary of £25,760 to £27,476 per annum pro rata.

Visits to the department are encouraged; closing date is 20 September 2026.

Qualifications

• Ability to use own initiative and work under pressure.
• Empathy and patience when communicating with patients and staff.
• Reliable team member with good interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Reception Cover
• Booking appointments from waiting lists
• Creating and changing all clinics
• Monitoring waiting times to review demands of clinic types
• Providing assistance and support to other administrative and clinical members of the department, including managing telephone communications and addressing patient enquiries.
