Job summary

MidCo Care Limited in Manchester is recruiting Support Workers for our Supported Living services. As a Care Worker, you will provide day-to-day support to adults with learning disabilities and/or mental health challenges, helping them live as independently as possible and following each service user’s care plan.

You will safeguard service users, handle queries and safeguarding documentation, and may assist with medication, personal care, meals, cleaning and community visits.

Qualifications

  • Experience in a support worker or care worker role is desirable; full training provided.
  • NVQ 1/2 Health and Social Care desirable but not essential.
  • Full UK driving licence desirable but not required.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day support to vulnerable adults to help them live as independently as possible.
  • Safeguard and support service users according to their care plans and safeguarding procedures.
  • Maintain accurate, confidential documentation on safeguarding and case notes.
  • Assist with medication administration, personal care, meal preparation and feeding, cleaning and accompanying during visits in the community.
  • Hours are allocated on a shift basis, covering day shifts, sleep-ins and waking night shifts.

Job description

We are recruiting Support Workers for our Supported Living Services in our services in the Manchester region. As a Care Worker, you will be required to provide day-to-day support to vulnerable adults who have Learning Disabilities and/or mental health challenges, enabling them to live as independently as possible in our Supported Living services. You will be responsible for safeguarding and supporting Service User in our care according to their care plan, following the procedures in place to safeguard them. You will attend to any arising Service User queries, complaints, and challenges, including maintaining accurate, confidential and up-to-date documentation on all cases of safeguarding. Other duties and tasks may include medication administration, personal care, meal preparation and feeding, cleaning and accompanying during visits in the community. Hours of Supported Living work will be allocated on a shift basis, covering day shifts, sleep-ins and waking night shifts.

What Experience And Qualifications Do You Need
  • Relevant work experience in a support worker or care worker role is desirable as full training is provided
