Job description

Calling all compassionate and dedicated individuals! Mencap is seeking passionate Support Workers to join our incredible team in Warwickshire, Leamington Spa.

As a Support Worker, you'll have the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of individuals with learning disabilities. You will be working with general day-to-day tasks, including helping to cook meals, managing finances, and accompanying individuals in the community.

Job Details

This position is a community care role providing support to individuals in their own homes across the Leamington Spa area, including the CV34, CV32, and CV31 postcodes.

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build meaningful relationships.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • A positive and empathetic attitude towards individuals with learning disabilities.
Support Worker Responsibilities
  • Supporting independence: Managing budgets, paying bills, housework, organizing appointments, and preparing healthy meals.
  • Relationship building: Supporting individuals to understand the world around them and promoting positive relationships.
  • Community & Social Inclusion: Helping individuals access and participate in local community and social events to promote life skills and individuality.
  • Personal Care: Assisting with daily routines, including prompting medication, bathing, showering, and bathroom use. Not all roles involve high levels of personal care.
Contract Options and Shift Times
  • Part-time: 30-35 hours per week.
  • All services operate 24-hour care with rotas prepared at least 4 weeks in advance.
  • Shift times include days (07:00-22:00) and waking nights (22:00-07:00).
