Job summary

Radis Community Care is seeking a dedicated Support Worker to join our Supported Living schemes in Tunstall, Stoke-on-Trent on a temporary maternity cover until June 2027. You will support individuals with PMLD and mild learning disabilities, promoting independence with compassion and respect within a person-centred service.

The role may include personal care, medication administration, meal preparation, and helping people access community resources and attend appointments.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting individuals with PMLD and mild learning disabilities.
• Willing to assist with medication administration and personal care as needed.
• Qualification in health and social care preferred but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily living support, personal care, meal preparation and household tasks.
• Assist individuals to stay connected with family and community and attend appointments.
• Promote independence, dignity and respect through high-quality, person-centred support.

About the role

As a Support Worker you will be supporting individuals with PMLD (Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities) and Mild Learning disabilities. The role may include manual handling, medication administration, personal care, food preparation, household tasks, supporting individuals to keep in contact with family and friends, accessing the community and attending appointments. We provide support for daily living skills and help support with socialisation.

We recognise each person as an individual and provide a unique service which is person centred and tailored to their needs. The role is to promote the individual’s independence, choice, dignity and respect by delivering the best standards of support. We offer people with PMLD a safe and secure home where they can live independently with the support they need.

Ideally the successful person would have a qualification in health and social care (but this is not essential) or will have worked either in supported living settings and / or with individuals with PMLD.

Pay Rates £13.10 weekdays, £13.40 weekend days.
