Job Opportunity: Support Worker – Children with Autism (Rotational Shifts)

Location: Preston, UK

Shift Pattern: Rotational (includes evenings, weekends, and bank holidays)

Position Type: Full-Time / Part-Time (Temp to Perm)

Salary: Hourly rate for the first 12 weeks, followed by a permanent role with Annual CTC

Are you an experienced support worker with a background in care homes and a passion for supporting children with autism? We are seeking dedicated professionals in the Preston area to join our team, providing person-centered care in a structured and supportive environment for children with autism and complex needs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide high-quality care and supervision to children with autism in care home or supported living settings
• Assist with daily routines including personal care, meals, and engaging developmental activities
• Support emotional and behavioral regulation using autism-informed and trauma-sensitive approaches
• Encourage independence and participation through structured, play-based, and therapeutic interventions
• Work collaboratively with families, clinical teams, and other professionals to deliver consistent care
• Maintain accurate records, ensuring all safeguarding and compliance protocols are followed

What We’re Looking For:

• Experience working in a care home setting (essential)
• Previous experience supporting children with autism or complex learning disabilities
• Strong knowledge of autism spectrum conditions, sensory needs, and communication styles
• Compassionate, patient, and proactive approach to care
• Flexibility to work rotational shifts, including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays
• Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)
• NVQ Level 2/3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent (desirable but not essential)
