Inclusive Outdoor Support Assistant / Sessional Worker Preston

Organisation: Wheels for All

Salary: £14.12 per hour including holiday pay

Location: Preston (Hyndburn). Occasional support at other hubs within Lancashire, Greater Manchester, & York, as agreed with the line manager.

Contract Type: Zero Hour Contract – Flexible Sessional Hours (discussed during interview)

Job Description

We are seeking a friendly, supportive individual who is enthusiastic about outdoor activities and working with people. No experience is required as full training will be provided. This role offers flexible hours, ideal to fit around your lifestyle.

The charity believes in making cycling accessible to everyone. As an Inclusive Outdoor Events Support Assistant / Sessional Worker, you will help set up bikes and equipment, welcome participants, and support individuals with diverse needs. You should enjoy helping people and working outdoors, and be prepared to create a warm, welcoming environment.

Responsibilities
  • Setting up bikes and equipment
  • Welcoming participants and fostering a friendly atmosphere
  • Supporting individuals with diverse needs
  • Guiding and motivating riders
  • Basic bike safety and maintenance (training provided)
  • Assisting with volunteers and logistics
Candidate Requirements
  • A passion for helping people and creating positive experiences
  • Reliability, enthusiasm, and willingness to learn
  • Comfortable working indoors and outdoors

Desirable but not essential:

  • Full UK manual driving license
  • Ability to drive a van
  • Ride Leader or First Aid qualifications
  • Experience with logistical and operational support for events
