Job summary

Mirus Wales is opening a new 5-bed property in Newport and seeks Positive Behaviour Support & Autism Support Workers to help young adults lead independent, dignified lives.

You will implement support plans, assist with daily activities, and work with a multidisciplinary team to deliver person-centred care. Training, funding for QCF Level 2, and progression opportunities are provided.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with care managers, community nurses and occupational therapists to deliver high-quality support.

Exciting New Opportunity in Newport! Positive Behaviour Support & Autism Support Workers

We're thrilled to announce the opening of our brand-new 5-bed property in Newport, offering a spacious and welcoming environment designed to support young adults with Positive Behaviour Support and autism.

Positive Behaviour Support & Autism Support Workers will implement and review Positive Behaviour Support Plans, Active Support Plans, and Individual Person-Centred Plans to enable people we support to lead fulfilling lives. This will include supporting people to achieve their individual goals and maximise independence, choice, control, and decision‑making. Support will be person centred and ensure dignity and respect for all people supported in line with Social Care Wales and Mirus Codes of Professional Practice.

Just an 8-minute drive from Newport City Centre, this is a fantastic opportunity to join a dedicated team in a supportive and rewarding environment.

What will you be doing?

• As a Support Worker you will develop, implement, and review a range of individual support plans to enable the person that you will support to lead a fulfilling life.
• You will provide support with a range of tasks which may include household and domestic tasks, shopping, diet/food preparation, personal care, personal hygiene, dressing and personal appearance.
• As a Support worker we will support you in studying towards your QCF Level 2 Health and Social Care, which is completely funded by mirus.
• You will work alongside other professionals such as care managers, community nurses and occupational therapists to deliver high quality support.
