Job summary

Partnership of Care is recruiting a Support Worker for Bryn Aderyn, Pontypool, to join a new staff team in a supported living setting for adults with autism, learning difficulties, and mental health needs.

Based at Bryn Aderyn, a 3-bedroom house, you will help residents with daily activities, medicines, personal care and community access, using a person-centred approach to promote independence and choice.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication skills essential.
• Experience with LD, autism or challenging behaviours preferred.
• QCF or willingness to work towards it.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day support and supervision to residents.
• Assist with personal care and medication administration.
• Support residents to access their community and activities.
• Apply a person-centred approach to empower independence.

About the service:

We are looking for Support Workers to be part of a new staff team at Bryn Aderyn, Pontypool. The supported living service will provide support to individuals with Autism, learning difficulties, behaviours that challenge and mental health.

Bryn Aderyn is a 3 bedroom house based in a rural village in Torfaen, Pontypool. Bryn Aderyn accommodates 3 adults who need support to help with their day to day activities, medication administration, personal care and accessing their community.

We use a person-centred approach focusing on supporting people to make their own choices, follow their own interests and gain independence. We empower people to choose how they want to live their life.

Requirements for this role:

• Full Driving Licence is required.
• Experience with LD, autism and behaviours that challenge preferable.
• QCF, or willing to work towards it if not currently obtained.
