Job summary

Curo is hiring a Support Worker for Independent Living across Bath & North East Somerset. You’ll manage your own caseload, build trust, and help customers live independently, with Monday–Friday, 37 hours/week and no personal care duties. A DBS check will be arranged, and a car is required for occasional travel.

You’ll work in a community-based role focused on enabling customers to access services, maximise income, and maintain independence in their own homes.

Qualifications

  • Experience in a customer-service or customer-facing role.
  • Strong listening skills and ability to understand what customers really need.
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills.
  • Comfort with challenging conversations while remaining respectful and supportive.
  • Good IT skills including Microsoft Office and mobile apps.
  • Full driving licence with access to a car and business insurance.

Responsibilities

  • Manage your own caseload of customers and build trust with individuals.
  • Develop personalised support plans to help customers live independently.
  • Coordinate with partner agencies to arrange appropriate support.
  • Assist customers with practical tasks like shopping, appointments and accessing services.
  • Help customers maximise income and access eligible benefits.
  • Complete annual personal alarm safety checks and maintain case notes.

Support Worker (Independent Living) - Supporting Independence, Building Futures

£26,778 per annum inclusive of £900 car allowance

Location: Multiple positions across various areas throughout B&NES

Full Time | Permanent | 37 hours per week | Monday to Friday - no shift work, no personal care

What You'll Be Doing
  • Managing your own caseload of customers, building trust and understanding their unique needs
  • Developing personalised support plans with customers to help them live independently
  • Working with partner agencies to coordinate the right support for each person
  • Helping customers across Bath and North East Somerset with task-based support -v practical things like shopping, attending appointments, and accessing services
  • Supporting customers to maximise their income and access benefits they're entitled to
  • Completing annual personal alarm safety checks
  • Completing accurate case notes and documentation within required timeframes
  • Responding to emergency situations when needed

You’ll travel throughout Bath and North East Somerset primarily, with occasional cover in Bristol and North Somerset. This role requires an enhanced DBS check, which we’ll arrange for you.
