Job summary

Cygnet is hiring a Support Worker (Learning Disabilities) for Oakhurst Lodge in the UK. You will join a compassionate team to help residents achieve independence, support daily living activities and participate in community outings. Training is provided, and DBS checks are required.

The role offers a 42-hour permanent contract with 12-hour day shifts across a 7-day rota, with progressive pay and benefits. Salary is paid per hour and enhanced after probation, with generous annual leave.

Qualifications

  • Experience supporting adults with Autism and/or Learning Disabilities or working within a care setting.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to build positive relationships with residents, families, and colleagues.
  • A caring, compassionate and enthusiastic attitude with a genuine desire to help others succeed.

Responsibilities

  • Support people to live happy, fulfilling and independent lives, developing skills and independence.
  • Follow 12-hour day shifts on a 7-day rota, with weekends as required.
  • Assist with daily routines, activities and community outings to promote wellbeing.

About The Role

What To Expect

Oakhurst Lodge is an 8-placement specialist residential service for adults with autism and learning disabilities who may present with behaviours that challenge. We aim to provide a safe, comfortable and effective care environment for those in our care, promoting independence and community integration.
