Job summary

Cygnet Group is seeking a Support Worker at Oakhurst Lodge to help adults with autism and learning disabilities live independent, meaningful lives. You will support daily routines, accompany activities and contribute to personal goals within a caring, team-centric environment.

The role offers a 42-hour permanent contract with 12-hour day shifts on a 7-day rota, with full training, DBS checks, and a benefits package. Salary is £13.45-£14.00 per hour with increases after 3 months.

Qualifications

  • Experience supporting adults with Autism and/or Learning Disabilities or working in a care setting.
  • Understanding of behaviours that may challenge and a proactive support approach.
  • Caring, compassionate and enthusiastic attitude with a genuine desire to help others succeed.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to build positive relationships with residents, families and colleagues.
  • A team-focused approach and ability to work collaboratively in a supportive environment.
  • Flexibility and enthusiasm for supporting a variety of community activities and events.
  • A commitment to promoting independence, choice, dignity and wellbeing.

About the Role

Looking for a stable, rewarding career with great variety? Join our team on a 42-hour permanent contract, working 12-hour day shifts across a 7-day rota.

What to expect:
  • Full-time permanent employment

  • Around two weekends per month

  • Early shifts from 7:00 am

  • Later shifts finishing by 10:00 pm

Oakhurst Lodge is an 8-placement specialist residential service for adults with autism and learning disabilities who may present with behaviours that challenge. We aim to provide a safe, comfortable and effective care environment for those in our care, promoting independence and community integration.
