Job summary

Positive Futures in Belfast is hiring a Support Worker to help people with learning disabilities, brain injury or autism live independently and have real choice and control. You’ll build trust, support daily living, manage money and medications, and help people access community activities with dignity and respect.

No formal qualifications are required; we provide full induction, ongoing training, and cover NISCC registration.

Qualifications

• Personal or work experience of providing care or support for someone
• Basic digital skills e.g. to record notes and use rota, HR or care systems.

Responsibilities

• Form positive relationships with the person you support while maintaining professional boundaries.
• Help with home care, money and medication management as independently as possible.
• Coordinate with GP, social worker or advocate to access support when needed.
• Promote safety, health and dignity in daily life and encourage community participation.
• Encourage self-advocacy and seek advocacy support when appropriate.
• Be a role model for colleagues; assist with onboarding and record-keeping.
• Maintain accurate records using our digital systems.
