Job summary

Cygnet Group is seeking a Maintenance Assistant / Maintenance Operative for our Hawkstone House site in Bradford, West Yorkshire. The role is full-time, 40 hours per week, with no weekend work and no on-call requirements.

You will perform repairs, routine maintenance and general building tasks to keep the service safe and well maintained. Salary is £13.70 per hour (£28,715 per year), with strong supervision and career progression opportunities.

Qualifications

• Experience in painting and decorating in indoor and outdoor settings.
• Willing to travel with a full valid driving licence.
• Ability to communicate at all levels and record maintenance details.
• Skilled in DIY and general maintenance tasks.
• Level 2 Diploma in Painting & Decorating or Maintenance preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide a comprehensive maintenance and repair service.
• Carry out tasks including basic joinery, plumbing, painting and general building work.
• Maintain plant, services and vehicles in working order.
• Follow safe working practices and report faults or hazards.
• Travel to other sites as required.
• Weekly checks on fire alarm points and exits.

• Experienced in all types of painting and decorating in both indoor and outdoor environments

Your day-to-day…

• Provide a comprehensive maintenance & repair service
• Carry out a range of tasks including basic joinery, plumbing, painting & general building work
• Maintain plant, services & vehicles in working order
• Comply with safe working practices & report faulty equipment & potential hazards
• Travel to other sites on occasion
• Check the fire alarm points weekly, including fire exits, door retaining devices & fire emergency lights, Group Pension
