Job summary

Priory Fernleigh House in Leyland, Lancashire, is seeking a dedicated Support Worker to join a team providing residential care for autistic individuals and learning disabilities. The role is full-time, 37.5 hours, on a rolling rota with early/late shifts, sleep-ins, weekends and occasional nights.

The successful candidate will work alongside qualified staff to implement individual care plans, support daily living, and promote independence in a person-centred environment.

Qualifications

• Excellent spoken and written English is essential.
• Experience with Learning Difficulties, Autism, epilepsy and behaviours that challenge is advantageous but training provided.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care and support with daily living tasks.
• Encourage participation in activities and community life.
• Support residents in achieving personal outcomes as they choose.
• Maintain records, care plans, charts and daily notes.
• Build positive relationships with residents, families, colleagues and stakeholders.
• Uphold safety, security and confidentiality per policies.
• Act as a key worker and help residents set goals and track progress.
• Promote choice, independence and involvement at all times.
• Contribute to continuous improvement by sharing ideas.
