Job summary

Active Care Group in York is looking for compassionate female Support Workers to join a dedicated in-home care team supporting one client with spinal cord injury. You’ll provide person-centred daily living support, meals, and companionship in her own home.

This role offers a zero-hours contract with regular shifts and a stable rota, full on-site training, and access to our learning hub. You’ll need a full UK driving licence and be comfortable around animals; experience in care is valued.

Qualifications

• Experience in personal care or similar caring roles.
• Able to work with a single client in a home environment.
• Willingness to develop specialist skills (urostomy, stoma care, cough assist, AD).
• Comfortable around animals and able to travel to client’s home.

Responsibilities

• Delivering person-centred, one-to-one care.
• Supporting with all aspects of daily living and personal care.
• Providing specialist clinical support (full training provided).
• Preparing meals and supporting household routines.
• Supporting the client to engage in outings, hobbies and activities.
• Building a strong, trusting relationship with the client.
