Job summary

Active Assistance in York is seeking dedicated female Support Workers to provide person-centred care in a home setting for a client with spinal cord injury. The role involves 12-hour shifts (9:00–21:00), full training in specialist care (urostomy/stoma care, cough assist, Autonomic Dysreflexia), and driving the client’s vehicle with a full UK manual license.

You will support daily living, meals, outings, and routine care while building a trusting relationship with the client and family.

Qualifications

• Female applicants only due to client care needs.
• 12-hour shifts, 9:00–21:00.

Responsibilities

• Delivering person-centred, one-to-one care.
• Supporting with all aspects of daily living and personal care.
• Providing specialist clinical support (full training provided).
• Preparing meals and supporting household routines.
• Supporting the client to engage in outings, hobbies and activities.
• Building a strong, trusting relationship through consistent care.
