Active Care Group is seeking a compassionate Female Live-In Support Worker to provide personalised, one-to-one care for a gentleman with a C5/6 spinal cord injury in his countryside home in Gloucestershire. You will build a trusting relationship, support independence, and ensure dignity and quality of life in daily activities.
Role includes two-week live-in rotations, driving assistance when needed, and paid specialist training.
Would you love a role where you can make a genuine difference to someone’s everyday life?
We’re looking for a compassionate, dedicated Female Live-In Support Workerto provide personalised, one-to-one support to a gentleman with a C5/6 spinal cord injury in his welcoming family home in rural Gloucestershire.
This is more than a care role. It’s an opportunity to build a trusting relationship, understand what matters most to the person you support, and help him maintain his independence, dignity and quality of life in the comfort of his own home.
If you’re caring, reliable and passionate about providing thoughtful, person-centred support, this could be a truly rewarding opportunity to make a difference every day.
The client lives with his wife, who works from home, and one of his adult daughters. His other daughter visits regularly.
The family home is set in a beautiful countryside location within a friendly village, offering a peaceful and welcoming environment. The village has a local shop, two pubs, a river and plenty of lovely countryside walks to enjoy.
The client can drive but finds driving increasingly difficult due to his condition and rural location. The successful candidate will therefore need to be confident and comfortable with driving and assisting with transport when required.
We are looking for a caring, reliable and proactive individual who can build a strong professional relationship with the client and his family, while supporting him to maintain his independence and enjoy everyday life.
There are two small, friendly dogs in the home. They may bark initially but quickly settle. The support worker will not be expected to walk or care for them, although they may occasionally need feeding or company.
In this role, you’ll support one individual with complex needs as part of a consistent care team, with regular weekly shifts and rotas planned in advance. While the role is offered on a flexible zero-hours contract, the work is ongoing and typically provides a stable working pattern with the same client. You’ll also receive an additional 14.07% holiday pay on every hour worked.
*Please note we are recruiting a Female Support Worker due to a genuine occupational requirement of the person we support therefore this role is exempt from the Equality Act 2010 Part Schedule 9
At Active Care Group we want everyone to feel welcome and supported. We encourage applications from people of all backgrounds and experiences. If you need any reasonable adjustments during the recruitment or interview process, just let us know and we’d be very happy to discuss this with you.
