Job summary

Leicestershire County Council is recruiting for a flexible support worker in Melton Mowbray to deliver person-centred care within Short Breaks and Supported Living Services. You will assist with personal care, support independence, and promote client choice in a 24/7 rota.

Full training is provided, with DBS checks and safeguarding in place. The role offers progression within a large public sector organisation and a competitive local government pension.

Qualifications

• Commitment to high quality care and support maximising independence.
• Ability to use equipment to assist moving and handling and support complex needs.
• Effective communication, including alternative methods (Makaton, signs).
• Good organisational skills, ability to manage workloads and prioritise tasks.
• Willingness to attend training and work flexible hours in a 24/7 service.

Responsibilities

• Deliver day-to-day support with personal care and promoting choice and independence.
• Work as part of a team to provide person-centred care in Short Breaks and Supported Living.
• Attend training and contribute to keeping clear, concise records.
