Job summary

Leicestershire County Council is recruiting a Support Worker (Female only) to provide person-centred care at Melton Short Breaks & Supported Living Services in Melton Mowbray. The role is 25 hours per week under a permanent contract, with a rota including weekends and bank holidays.

You will support adults with learning differences, assist with personal care, and promote independence. Training is provided, DBS checks covered, and you join a large public sector team with a generous pension scheme.

Qualifications

• Commitment to providing high quality care and support, maximising independence.
• Ability to use equipment to assist moving and handling and support people with complex needs.
• Effective communication including alternative methods (Makaton, pictures, signs).
• Good organisational skills to manage workloads and priorities, remain calm under pressure.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, including crisis situations.
• IT and written skills to write clear records and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Deliver day-to-day support to adults in Short Breaks and Supported Living Services.
• Assist with personal care, promote choice and maximise independence.
• Work flexibly to meet service rota including weekends/bank holidays.
• Participate in training and adhere to the County Council Codes of Conduct.
