Job summary

Dimensions is seeking a dedicated Waking Night Support Worker to join our Newcastle team. You’ll support four individuals with learning disabilities and autism in their own supported living homes, helping create a safe, calm night-time environment.

You will carry out safety checks, maintain a hygienic space, and record essential information to ensure high-quality care. The role includes personal care with dignity and respect and requires flexibility for rota patterns.

Qualifications

• Previous experience not required but positive behaviour support training is provided.
• Care deeply about people and want to help create safe, positive nights for those who need support.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out regular kept safe checks to ensure everyone feels secure and comfortable.
• Maintaining a clean, hygienic space so the environment is welcoming and safe.
• Recording important information using IT systems – from support plans to health and safety logs.
• Creating a therapeutic, reassuring atmosphere that promotes wellbeing throughout the night.
• Supporting people to enjoy their late evenings or nights in ways that matter to them.
• Providing personal care when needed, always with dignity and respect.

The current pay rate of £14.01per hour will be increasing to £14.59per hour from 1st October.

About the role

We’re looking for enthusiastic, positive Support Workers to join our team in Kenton, supporting four incredible people in their own supported living bungalows.

You’ll be supporting two gentlemen and one lady with learning disabilities and autism to live independently and enjoy life on their terms.

Every night,you’llhelp create a safe, calm, and comforting environment for the people we support.
Your role will include:

• Carrying out regular “keeping safe checks” to ensure everyone feels secure and comfortable.
• Maintaining a clean, hygienic space so that the environment is welcoming and safe.
• Recording important information using our easy-to-use IT systems – from support plans to health and safety logs – so we can provide the best care possible.
• Creating a therapeutic, reassuring atmosphere that promotes wellbeing throughout the night.
• Supporting people to enjoy their late evenings or nights in ways that matter to them.
• Providing personal care when needed, always with dignity and respect.

?You will also need to provide emotional reassurance when experiencing behaviours of distress – full positive behaviour support training is provided but previous experience is essential.

Shift:

Waking nights are typically 10pm – 8am
We’re looking for people with flexibility to work on a rota basis that includes a combination of shifts, weekdays and weekends
Rotas are provided at least 4 weeks in advance to support a healthy work life balance - something we're very passionate about!
