Job summary

Dimensions is hiring a Waking Night Support Worker in Newcastle, offering a full-time role with a 37.5-hour week. The position involves providing compassionate night-time support to four individuals with learning disabilities and autism, including personal care and maintaining a safe environment.

You will work nights (10pm–8am) on a rota, with training provided for positive behaviour support and DBS checks. The role emphasizes dignity, respect, and teamwork within a supportive setting.

The current pay rate of £14.01per hour will be increasing to £14.59per hour from 1st October.

About the role

We’re looking for enthusiastic, positive Support Workers to join our team in Kenton, supporting four incredible people in their own supported living bungalows.

You’ll be supporting twogentlemen and one lady with learning disabilities and autism to live independently and enjoy life on their terms.

Every night,you’llhelp create a safe, calm, and comforting environment for the people we support.
Your role will include:

• Carrying out regular “keeping safe checks” to ensure everyone feels secure and comfortable.
• Maintaining a clean, hygienic space so that the environment is welcoming and safe.
• Recordingimportant informationusing our easy-to-use IT systems – from support plans to health and safety logs – so we can provide the best care possible.
• Creating a therapeutic, reassuring atmosphere that promotes wellbeing throughout the night.
• Supporting people to enjoy their late evenings or nights in ways that matter to them.
• Providing personal care when needed, always with dignity and respect.

?You will also need to provide emotional reassurance when experiencing behaviours of distress – full positive behaviour support training is provided but previous experience is essential.

Shift:

Waking nights are typically 10pm – 8am
We’re looking for people with flexibility to work on a rota basis that includes a combination of shifts, weekdays and weekends
Rotas are provided at least 4 weeks in advance to support a healthy work life balance - something we're very passionate about!
