Job summary

Dimensions Group in Kinson seeks a Female Waking Night Support Worker to provide compassionate overnight care for two adults in their home. You will work as the sole staff member on shift, performing checks and helping with personal care as needed.

You will support mobility using single-person hoists and maintain thorough records in our IT systems to ensure safe, consistent care through the night.

This position follows a two-week rolling rota, averaging 35 hours per week:

• Week 1:3 waking night shifts
• Week 2:4 waking night shifts

About the role

You’ll supporting two people, a gentleman and a lady in their 50s and 60s, to enjoy a safe, comfortable and reassuring night in their home.

The gentleman has cerebral palsy and communicates in ways other than words. Building a good understanding of his individual communication style will help you recognise his needs, preferences and routines, ensuring he feels heard, respected and supported.

The lady has epilepsy, which is well managed with medication. She enjoys the reassurance of having consistent, attentive support available during the night, giving her and those around her peace of mind.

As a Waking Night Support Worker, you’ll work independently as the sole member of staff on shift, carrying out regular checks, providing personal care when required, supporting with mobility needs using single-person hoisting, and responding calmly and confidently to any support needs that arise overnight.

Every night, you’ll help create a safe, calm, and comforting environment for the people we support.

Your role will include:

• Carrying out regular "keeping safe checks" to ensure everyone feels secure and comfortable.
• Maintaining a clean, hygienic space so that the environment is welcoming and safe.
• Recording important information using our easy-to-use IT systems – from support plans to health and safety logs – so we can provide the best care possible.
• Creating a therapeutic, reassuring atmosphere that promotes wellbeing throughout the night.
• Supporting people to enjoy their late evenings or nights in ways that matter to them.
• Providing personal care when needed, always with dignity and respect.
