Job summary

Dimensions in Slough is seeking a compassionate Waking Night Support Worker to care for five ladies in a large bungalow. The role is part-time (19 hours per week) with nights from 9:45pm to 7:15am, two nights per week, in a lone-working night shift.

You will provide personal care, support daily living activities, and maintain safety. You’ll use IT systems to log plans and health data, ensuring a respectful, dignified, person-centred approach at night.

About the role

We are looking for a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team in a large bungalow in Slough, where we support five ladies to live fulfilling and independent lives. Each person has their own private bedroom and receives personalised support tailored to their individual needs. Threeof the ladies use wheelchairs and require full support with mobility, including moving and handling, as they are non-weight bearing. Fourladies communicate in ways other than spoken words, so patience, observation skills, and a person-centred approach are essential.

This role involves providing full personal care with dignity and respect. You will be working in alone working environment at night, so confidence, initiative, and the ability to work independently are important.

Every night, you'll help create a safe, calm, and comforting environment for the people we support.

Your role will include:

  • Carrying out regular “keeping safe checks” to ensure everyone feels secure and comfortable.
  • Maintaining a clean, hygienic space so that the environment is welcoming and safe.
  • Recording important information using our easy-to-use IT systems - from support plans to health and safety logs - so we can provide the best care possible.
  • Creating a therapeutic, reassuring atmosphere that promotes wellbeing throughout the night.
  • Supporting people to enjoy their late evenings or nights in ways that matter to them.
  • Providing personal care when needed, always with dignity and respect.
