Job summary

CareTech is seeking a compassionate Female Support Worker to provide dedicated in-home and community support for a person living in Ramsgate. The role involves helping with daily living, promoting independence, and engaging in arts and crafts and social activities.

You will work a full-time rota including evenings, weekends and sleep-ins, delivering person-centred care in the service setting and local community, while maintaining records and collaborating with a friendly team at Hereson House

Job description

Permanent | Full-time | 37.5 hours per week (rota-based)

We are seeking a compassionate, engaging, and enthusiastic Female Support Worker to provide dedicated support to an individual in her own home and local community.

The lady we support has a passion for arts and crafts, so we are looking for someone who will enjoy participating in creative activities and encouraging her interests. A friendly personality, positive outlook, and a good sense of humour are essential, as building a fun and engaging relationship is important to her. In her own words, she enjoys "having a laugh and a bit of banter."

The role involves supporting a full-time wheelchair user with a range of daily activities and promoting independence. Applicants must be able to safely carry out the physical aspects of the role and be comfortable supporting an active lifestyle both at home and in the community.

About the Service – Hereson House

Hereson House provides care and support for up to 19 adults and is made up of 5 shared flats within 2 buildings with an established friendly team located close to the beach.

Good parking facilities onsite with local transport..

Service User Interests

• Arts and crafts
• Days out such as Theme Parks, Meals out, Social activities, Christmas markets etc.
• Holidays and short breaks
• Walks in the local park and community
• Cooking and baking to develop life skills

The Role

You will:

Who We’re Looking For

We’re seeking people who are caring, patient, and respectful, with a positive and resilient approach. You should be confident working independently and within a team, have good communication skills, basic IT and written abilities, and be flexible and reliable.

No previous experience? No problem! If you have the passion, we’ll provide full training and a structured induction programme.

Requirements

• Willingness to work towards Level 2 in Health and Social Care
• Ability to work unsociable hours on a rota basis
• Enhanced DBS required (paid for by CareTech)
