Job summary

CareTech is hiring a part-time Support Worker for the Oakwood Flats service in Bradford, providing person-centred support to adults with learning disabilities, autism, and mental health needs. The role extends to assisting with daily living skills, personal care, and community access, with a rota including evenings, weekends, and sleep-ins.

We offer strong training, DBS paid-for by CareTech, and opportunities for career progression within a supportive team environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in a care environment with challenging behaviour preferred.
• Willingness to work towards a health and social qualification.
• Ability to work unsociable hours on a rota basis.
• Enhanced DBS required (paid for by CareTech).

Responsibilities

• Deliver person-centred support in line with individual support plans.
• Assist with daily living skills and personal care where required.
• Promote independence, dignity, and wellbeing.
• Support activities, appointments, and community access.
• Maintain accurate records and work effectively as part of a team.
• Work a rota including evenings, weekends, bank holidays, and sleep-ins.

About the Service – Oakwood Flats

Oakwood Flats is a supported living residential service which provides care and support for individuals with learning disabilities and/or autistic spectrum disorder, mental health, complex and challenging behaviour who enjoy a wide range of hobbies from Bowling and Swimming to Dance and Music.,

There is easy access to public transport and it is close to local shops.

Service User Interests

• Arts and crafts
• Days out such as Theme Parks, Meals out, Social activities, Christmas markets etc.
• Holidays and short breaks
• Walks in the local park and community
• Cooking and baking to develop life skills

The Role

We’re seeking people who are caring, patient, and respectful, with a positive and resilient approach. You should be confident working independently and within a team, have good communication skills, basic IT and written abilities, and be flexible and reliable.
