Job summary

Salford City Council is seeking a dedicated Support Worker to join our Supported Living team, delivering person-centred care and enabling people to live independently and with choice.

As a Support Worker you will tailor care to individual goals, support daily tasks, finances, housing, meals, medication and personal care, and promote participation in community activities while maintaining accurate records. DBS is required, and right to work in the UK is essential.

Qualifications

  • Caring, practical and person-centred approach.
  • Experience supporting adults with complex care needs incl. learning disabilities, autism, physical disabilities, mental health needs, behaviours of concern.
  • Ability to build positive, respectful relationships with people using services, families and colleagues.
  • Good communication skills with ability to adapt approaches to individuals.

Responsibilities

  • Support people to carry out daily living tasks and manage finances, home, meals, medication, appointments and personal care.
  • Encourage participation in social, leisure and community activities.
  • Maintain accurate records and report concerns.
  • Support people to develop positive relationships and be active in their local community.
  • Provide specialist interventions where appropriate.
