Job summary

Our new Provider Services arm of Adult Social Care supports Salford people to live fulfilling, independent and connected lives. Provider Services support people with learning disabilities, autism, dementia, mental health needs, physical disabilities and complex care conditions, helping people to achieve their goals and to live their life, their way, by giving people greater choice and control and being part of person‑centred planning.

About the role

As a Support Worker you will tailor person centred care with the individual needs of people, aspirations and outcomes. You will work with senior Support Workers to embed strategies and approaches to meet the needs of people supported.

This role supports people with low to moderate care and support needs, enabling them to live as independently as possible and focuses on providing practical assistance, encouragement and guidance rather than undertaking complex care interventions.

Your role will involve:

• Ensuring the person is at the heart of everything we do
• Supporting people with daily living activities and personal care
• Supporting people with health, wellbeing and medication needs
• Encouraging participation in social leisure and community activities
• Maintaining accurate records and reporting any concerns

Qualifications – NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care, or Care Certificate

DBS (Enhanced): Please be aware that this post is subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check and that you will be required to meet the cost of the DBS check – currently £49.50. The payment for this will be deducted from your first four months’ salary payments at a rate of £12.38 per month. If you do not commence employment for any reason but the DBS has been processed, you will be sent an invoice for the payment of £49.50.
