Job summary

Hft is seeking a dedicated Support Worker to help learning disabled adults live the life they choose. You’ll champion independence, dignity and person-centred support within a warm, inclusive team.

DBS checks and safeguarding are part of the role as you help individuals stay active, connected and in control of their lives. You’ll work flexibly across evenings, weekends, waking nights and sleep-ins, bringing compassion, resilience and a willingness to learn.

Qualifications

• Patience, empathy and a genuine respect for people’s choices.
• Positive and encouraging approach, celebrating progress and achievements.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Willingness to learn and develop toward a Health and Social Care qualification.
• Ability to provide personal support with dignity, kindness and respect.
• Flexibility to work a range of shifts, including evenings, weekends and sleep-ins.
• Experience in social care is welcome, but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Support people to make choices and live in line with who they are.
• Encourage participation in social, leisure, work and community activities.
• Promote health, safety and wellbeing while respecting preferences.
• Assist with health appointments and managing medication and wellbeing.
• Maintain records and follow safeguarding practices.
