Job summary

Hft in the United Kingdom is seeking a compassionate Support Worker to empower learning disabled adults to live life their way. You will support daily living, encourage participation in activities, monitor health and safety, and help people attend appointments while safeguarding their dignity.

No formal healthcare experience is required; attitudes and values matter most. Roles include flexible shifts evenings and weekends; DBS/background checks apply.

Qualifications

Patience and empathy when supporting learning disabled adults.
Strong communication to build trust and rapport.
Respect for individuals’ choices and privacy.
Willingness to learn and progress in Health and Social Care.

Responsibilities

Empower independence and promote choice and dignity.
Encourage participation in social, leisure, work and community activities.
Promote health, safety and wellbeing while respecting decisions.
Support attendance at health appointments and medication management.
Build skills and confidence to live more independently.
Assist with daily living and personal care when needed.
Maintain accurate records and follow safeguarding practices.
