Job summary

Thera Trust is seeking enthusiastic support workers to join our inclusive team supporting adults with a learning disability. You will help create innovative ways to support individuals to achieve their goals, aims and ambitions. The support you provide will adapt to each person, changing with their needs and circumstances.

You may be supporting people in their own home or out and about in the community, with a person-centred approach to empower independence and living the lives they choose.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a care setting is required.
• Comfortable with lone working and supporting individuals with Mental Health Needs.
• Compassionate, Caring and Confident.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Self-starter with a high level of motivation.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; confident, articulate and professional.
• Willingness to learn in a fast-paced environment and solve problems creatively.
• Desire to embrace our values and vision and have fun.

Responsibilities

• Support adults with a learning disability in daily life, helping plan and manage routines.
• Provide personal and emotional support and assist with leisure, employment and travel.
• Work in clients' homes or in the community.
• Promote independence through person-centred approaches.
