Job summary

Jimmy's Cambridge is seeking two compassionate Support Workers to join East Road, our 25-bed emergency accommodation service for people experiencing homelessness. You will provide trauma-informed, person-centred support to residents, helping with assessment, support, and resettlement while maintaining a safe and welcoming environment.

Job description

We are looking for two compassionate and committed Support Workers to join our team at East Road.

East Road is our 25-bed emergency accommodation service, often the first place people come to when they are rough sleeping and need immediate safety, support, and a pathway forward.

The successful candidates will provide trauma-informed, person-centred support, helping to create a safe, secure, and welcoming environment while supporting residents with their assessment, support, and resettlement needs. You will build trusting relationships, work alongside partner agencies, and help people move towards greater stability and independent living.

You will need good communication and IT skills, a willingness to be hands‑on, and an understanding of the challenges faced by people who have experienced homelessness. Experience of working with vulnerable adults is desirable, but training will be provided for candidates with the right values, skills and commitment.

The role includes daytime shifts, including weekends, on a 4-week rota, with opportunities for overtime.
