Job summary

Thera Trust is seeking a dedicated support worker to assist adults with learning disabilities and/or autism. You will work with a supportive, person-centred approach to help individuals achieve their personal goals and improve daily living skills.

This role involves assisting with home life, planning leisure activities, and travel in community settings, with daytime, evenings or waking night shifts as needed. Training is provided, and DBS checks are required.

Qualifications

• No previous experience or qualifications required; full training will be provided.
• Compassionate, caring and confident with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Self-starter with high motivation and a professional attitude.
• Strong written and verbal communication and a keenness to learn in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Support adults with learning disabilities and/or autism using a person-centred approach.
• Help them develop new skills and provide personal and emotional support.
• Assist with planning and managing their own home, plus leisure and travel.
• Support may be in the person’s home or out in the community.
