Job description

Support Worker with additional driving duties – Children's Services

£25,412 - £25,837 per annum, pro rata (£13.17 - £13.39 per hour) plus an additional £1000 per annum for the driving element of the role and the opportunity for an additional £1575 per annum for undertaking additional responsibilities pro rata.

As a Support Worker Driver, you will be using company-owned vehicles (up to nine seater) to assist the people we support in accessing the local community, medical appointments, family contact, and activities.

In order to be considered for these roles, candidates must meet the following essential criteria:

  • A full, Manual UK (Category B) Driving Licence
  • Demonstrable experience as a Driver

Role Overview

Our client is recruiting Support Workers passionate about supporting disabled children and adults. You will work in a team based in one of their Children's Homes supporting up to 4 children with Autistic Spectrum Condition, learning disabilities, and/or complex health needs.

Contracts

They offer various contract types:

  • Full Time: Average 37 hours/week, with opportunities for additional shifts. Includes both weekday and weekend shifts, with sleep-in shifts on a rota basis, for which an additional flat rate payment is made.
  • Weekend: 16, 21.5, or 29 hours/week, with opportunities for extra shifts. Weekend work is between Friday night and Sunday night, with occasional sleep-in shifts.

Training

Staff will receive all necessary training, including mandatory and refresher courses, scheduled in advance. Those without an equivalent or higher qualification will be required to complete an NVQ within two years, paid for by the employee, with full support provided.
