Job summary

Leonard Cheshire in Crawley, West Sussex, is seeking caring care assistants to join their team. The role offers £13.38 per hour and both full-time and part-time hours, with shifts across days and nights on a rota.

You will support residents with daily living, encourage independence, accompany to appointments, and maintain accurate records. No prior care experience is required as training is provided, with a strong focus on wellbeing and personalized care.

Our Heatherley Service is home to up to 42 adults with physical disabilities. Our service feels like family – relaxed, supportive, and centred around the people who live here. Every day brings new moments to celebrate: from small wins in independence to big laughs over mealtimes.

Your working hours

We are offering full-time hours at 34.5 hours per week, but part-time options are alos available.

You’ll need to be flexible to work across weekdays and weekends as part of a rota.

Typical shifts:

• Days: 7.30am - 7.30pm
• Nights: 7.30pm - 7.30am

Enhanced pay: £1.00 per hour will only apply to night working (8pm Monday to 7am Friday) and weekend working (8pm Friday to 7am Monday). This does not apply to Sleep-Ins.

We provide specialist support across residential care, supported living, and respite services for people with physical disabilities, acquired brain injuries, sensory impairments, and learning disabilities.
