Job summary

Active Care Group is hiring a Support Worker for services in Caterham and Croydon. You will assist adults with learning disabilities and autism, supporting communication, daily tasks and personal care in a complex supported living setting.

The role requires passion for person-centred care, teamwork and flexible shifts including weekends. Salary is quoted as £29,291.33 FTE per annum pro rata with part-time and full-time options, plus a range of staff benefits and development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Desirable 3 years experience in the Health and Social care sector.
• Essential - Minimum of 1 years` experience working with adults with Learning Disabilities, Autism, Mental Health and Behaviours of concern.
• Desirable - Level 3 Health and Social Care Qualifications Minimum Level 2.
• Desirable - Valid UK Driving License.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Great Communication Skills.
• Ability to work as part of a team and as an individual.
• Disability Confident commitment in recruitment process.

Responsibilities

• Support individuals with complex communication needs, autism, and a range of physical and learning disabilities.
• Establish understanding of what may impact communication and expression.
• Work as part of a team to promote positive communication and personalised support.
• Enable individuals to achieve hopes and goals, maximise quality of life, and minimise behaviours of concern.
• Carry out support responsibilities including management of PEG and Stoma Care when trained.
• Provide practical help with daily tasks such as meal planning, shopping and meals.
