Job summary

Ocean Healthcare is seeking a dedicated Support Worker to provide 2:1 support for a gentleman living with a long-term mental illness in Bodmin. You will work across day and night shifts, helping him stay safe, build routine and engage in activities he loves.

With on-call nurse support 24/7, you will encourage participation in music, fishing, and social events while maintaining his comfort and dignity at home. Full training and strong teamwork are provided to support your development.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting adults with mental health needs.
• Full training and ongoing support provided.
• You must have a valid UK driving license.

Support Worker required to provide dedicated 2:1 support for a gentleman living with a long-term mental illness in his home - Bodmin.

Ocean Healthcare are looking for a Support Worker to provide dedicated 2:1 support for a gentleman living with an long-term mental illness. He also experiences hallucinations and delusional thoughts.

With the support of a Nurse on-call 24/7 your role will be to help ensure he feels safe and secure while also encouraging him to rebuild his confidence in engaging with the activities he loves.

He finds great comfort in music, river fishing and sharing stories. He loves spending time with his daughters and enjoys going to live music events, which is something he hopes to regain confidence in doing again.

Shifts Available:

DAY SHIFTS (08:00–20:00)

Week 1: Saturday

Week 2: Friday, Saturday

NIGHT SHIFTS (20:00-08:00)

Week 2: Thursday

What We’re Looking For

• Confident and resilient Support Worker
• Mental Health experience

The ideal candidate would be a resilient, confident Support Worker with a background in mental health support and experience managing challenging behaviours. Full training and support will be provided.

• Good References (covering at least 3 years)
• You must be a car driver
• Reliability and good communication
• Right to to work in the UK (We do not offer Work Visas)
