Job description

Are you available for 2 to 3 nights a week and looking for something meaningful, rewarding, and a little bit different? Join one of the UK’s leading providers of complex care and become part of a team that empowers people to live independently in their own homes. We’re currently looking for a Night Support Worker to support our client in Burry Port — just a short walk from the train station and close to the beach.

Meet the Client:

Our client lives independently with a spinal cord injury and has full capacity, meaning he can clearly communicate his needs and guide you in his care. He enjoys:

  • Painting
  • Photography
  • Music (including playing the drums when he can)
  • Watching TV and films in the evenings
  • Getting outdoors and exploring new places
  • Maintaining a healthy lifestyle
  • Travelling and visiting seaside locations such as Cornwall
When you'll be working:

2–3 nights per week, 8:00pm – 8:00am, 24 - 36 hours available.

In this role, you’ll support one individual with complex needs, working regular weekly shifts to build a consistent, trusted care team. While hours are usually stable, the position is offered on a zero‑hours contract as care packages can change.

What you'll be doing:
  • Supporting with bedtime routine
  • Providing personal care overnight.
  • Repositioning and readjusting during the night for comfort.
  • Working as part of a 2:1 team for morning routines, including full moving & handling and hoisting to chair (ceiling track hoist)
What you'll have:
  • A kind, caring, and reliable nature
  • Confidence in communication and working independently
  • Comfort and willingness to work waking night shifts
  • Flexibility and commitment to a consistent routine
  • No previous experience is required — we provide full training, shadow shifts, and ongoing support to help you succeed in the role.
What to look forward to:
  • up to £14.00 per hour depending on NVQ qualification
  • Full specialist training, shadow shifts, and ongoing support from the Care Manager provided
  • Accrued holiday pay
  • Regular consistent work with rolling rotas
  • Flexible zero hours contract
  • Join the Active Learning Hub and benefit from a wide range of e learning and face to face training and development opportunities
  • A Nest Personal Pension account
  • We recognise outstanding Active Behaviours via the Active Awards programme
  • Refer a Friend Scheme and earn yourself up to £1000 by recommending someone you know ...and, of course, the support and guidance of our qualified clinical and business leadership teams so that you can really develop your career with Active Care Group
