Job summary

Keys is seeking a Support Worker for a full-time role in Oldham. You will join a team delivering neuro-rehabilitation support and assist with therapy goals in daily activities.

The position involves promoting independence, assisting with health care needs, budgeting, personal care and following therapy plans set by clinicians. DBS paid for by Keys and a comprehensive induction are provided.

Qualifications

• Experience in care or support roles is advantageous.
• Ability to work with adults with complex needs.
• Willingness to complete DBS check and training.

Responsibilities

• Promote independence and support rehabilitation.
• Assist with health care needs and accompany to appointments.
• Assist with budgeting, shopping, and domestic tasks as part of therapy goals.
• Provide personal care where needed.

JOB ROLE:Support Worker - Full Time 34.5 Hours

LOCATION: Oldham, Manchester (OL8)

About Boston House:

Boston House provides slow stream Neuro Rehabilitation for 17 adults who have complex needs following a brain injury, you will work in conjunction with a Neuro- Therapy Team assisting the people we support with their ongoing rehabilitation goals

As a Support and Therapy Assistant you will be part of a team who excel in being an active and positive influence encouraging the people we support to work towards a brighter future. Duties will include:

• Promoting independence with the people we support and encouraging them to engage in their rehabilitation journey following their Brain Injury.
• Supporting our people to manage their health care needs, including accompanying the people we support to routine appointments, hospital admissions and administrating medication when fully trained.
• Empowering the people we support to manage budgets, pay bills, menu planning, shopping and support with domestic tasks including cleaning & cooking in line with their therapy goals set by the therapy team.
• Assisting with personal care.
• Supporting to follow tailored programmes of therapies set by our Physiotherapist, Speech and Language Therapist and Occupational Therapist.
